Anil Ambani turns hostile in 2G case

Special public prosecutor UU Lalit declared Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Chairman Anil Ambani a hostile witness. Anil Ambani was produced as prosecution witness before a Delhi court on Thursday in 2G spectrum case and could not “recall” many board meetings of AAA Consultancy as he did not prepare the minutes of the meeting.

“I attend a large number of meetings and I do not recall. I am going by the records only,” Anil told Special CBI Judge O P Saini.

“Sir I want to take a call. One I do not recall now. Second, minutes are not prepared by me. It is prepared by the secretarial staff. I do not recall and I do not prepare the minutes,” Ambani said.

However, when the judge said that the records of those meetings in which Ambani was present, could not be false, he agrees.

“But you do not maintain false records. Your record must be correct,” the judge asked Ambani.

“The records should be correct,” Ambani responded.

Anil’s wife Tina Ambani will be deposed next in Rs 990 cr Swan Telecom case.
