The Rocket: Won Audience Award at LIFF

The Rocket, the Australian movie, has won the Audience Award at the 27th Leeds International Film Festival, which ended yesterday. Voted the best from a pool of 139 movies, the movie is Australia’s submission for the Foreign Language Oscar.

Kim Mordaunt's the RocketThe film is about a boy who is believed to bring bad luck to everyone around him and leads his family and two new friends through Laos to find a new home.

The movie is mainly noted for the extra-ordinary performance by the entire mainly amateur cast. Laos-set drama, the movie gives an excellent insight to a wonderful country still suffering from the devastation brought about by its proximity to Vietnam.

Directed by Kim Mordaunt, the movie was first released in Berlin International Film Festival. And, it has excellent audience response throughout the world.
