Wong Kar Wai’s “The Grandmaster” sets for a grand Weinsten Company Release

One of the most acclaimed and celebrated director Wong Kar Wai’s latest film “The Grandmaster” is set for an ambitious release from the Weinsten Company. The film is now officially presented by Martin Scorsese.

The release makes sure that the language won’t be a barrier to reaching a wider audience worldwide. Based on the story of martial-arts master Ip Man, the one who trained Bruce Lee – the film has been hitting headlines since late.

After Ang Lee’s “Crouching Tiger Hiddden Dragon”, the audiences lately haven’t much reach to the big-shot martial arts films. The company hopes to fill the gap by this. Though the Weinstens under Miramax label excelled in subtitled movies – mainly in the “foreign language film” category of the Oscars – they have lately restrained from doing so.

 With Wong Kar Wai, Weinstens and Scorsese going together – the “The Grandmaster” can never go the wrong way !
