Shabana Azmi criticized Protests Against ‘Aarakshan’

Veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi has loud her voice and condemned the protests against Prakash Jha’s forthcoming film “Aarakshan” as “shameful”.

Shabana twitted “Vandalism against ‘Aakarshan’ must be condemned in the strongest terms possible. As always, those protesting have not even seen the film. Am outraged that inspite of censor certificate, different groups are trying to prevent its release. Of what use is the Censor Board if after it certifies a film, different groups can prevent it from being released without even watching it!”
“Aarakshan” which is scheduled to be released Aug 12 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan. Aarakshan is a socio-political drama based on caste-based reservation in the Indian education system.
Last week director Prakash Jha’s house and office in Mumbai were attacked by the activists of Republican Party of India. Politicians in UP and Maharashtra are demanding a ban on this movie screening..

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
