Philip Seymour Hoffman dies at 46

Renowned Hollywood actor Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead on Sunday at a home in Greenwich Village. He was 46.

Philip Seymour HoffmanHis death was apparently from drug overdose. Reportedly the police have found a syringe in his arm and a packet containing heroin.

Although he had a long history of drug addiction, but later he said that he had given up drugs and alcohol. Last year he went to a rehabilitation program for 10 days after a sudden encounter with drugs.

The popular the stage and screen actor won Oscar for his immortal portrayal of writer Truman Capote in “Capote”.

Some of his critically acclaimed movies are: Twister, Patch Adams, Magnolia, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, Charlie Wilson’s War, Doubt, The Master, The Savages and Moneyball.

Hoffman made his directorial debut with the film Jack Goes Boating.
