Justin Bieber arrested and later released on bail

Teen pop icon Justin Bieber was arrested in Florida for drunk-driving under the influence. He was later released on bail at $2,500. 19-year-old Bieber was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired Georgia licence.

“When approaching the car when he opened up the window and confronted Mr Bieber, he smelled a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Mr Bieber at that point was not cooperating with the officer’s instructions. The officer asked him to exit the vehicle, he was questioning why he was being stopped,” Raymond Martinez, Miami Beach Police Chief told reporters.

“Ultimately he did step out of the vehicle, but would not follow the officer’s instructions, the officer at that time did place Mr Bieber under arrest,” he added.

The incident took place on Thursday when he was caught driving a rented Lamborghini on a Miami Beach street.
