J.K. Rowling’s New Book ‘The Casual Vacancy’ To Be Released On September

Recently Little Brown, the publishing house, has announced the release date of author J.K. Rowling’s new book ‘The Casual Vacancy’. This will be Edinburgh-based Rowling’s first adult book and it is said to be a dark comedy.  Little Brown will release ‘The Casual Vacancy’ on 27th September, 2012. Along with traditional hardback editions, the book will also be released in e-book and audio formats.

World’s richest author JK Rowling first revealed her plan of new novel for adults in February this year. It is her first book beyond Harry Potter andHogwarts since she completed the last Harry Potter book in 2007.

”The Casual Vacancy” is a “dark comic” story based on a small English fictional town, Pagford. A local man Barry Fairweather suddenly died and leaves a vacancy on the parish council. Though in the beginning the whole village seems shocked and sad due to sudden demise of Fairweather, but later on, they indulge into major fight for the post of council which Pagford has ever seen.

Rowling’s Harry Potter series books have sold more than 450 million copies in 74 languages across globe.
