Taslima Nasrin’s Autobiography ‘Nirbasan’ To release at Kolkata Book Fair

Controversial writer Taslima Nasrin’s autobiography ‘Nirbasan’(Exile) to be released at the Kolkata Book Fair on Thursday.

‘Nirbasan’  is the seventh installment of Taslima Nasrin’s autobiography. The book describes the Bangladeshi author’s difficulty and emotional crisis following her expulsion from Kolkata, her “adopted home” in 2007, November.

After her expalsion from Bangladesh in 1994 for allegedly hurting Islamic sentiments with her novel ‘Lajja’ (Shame), Taslima is in continuous journey to search for her ‘home’.

She took refuge in Kolkata in 2004, after 10 year’s stay in Europe. However in 2007 She was thrown out from her ‘adopted home’ Kolkata due to Islamic groups’ violent protests. Nasrin moved to Sweden in 2008.

The book ‘Nirbasan’ also deals with Taslima’s dilemma and insecurity of not having a sanctuary anywhere across globe.
