We could hardly know about the work experience of engineers, technologists working in the factories. Their knowledge and experience are erased permanently, and common people hardly get an opportunity for knowledge transfer. Author Ajay Majumdar has narrated his work life experience and learning in his first book “Jibanpurer Pathik”. The experience of author is very rich, and its range also is wide. Having worked in four renowned and profitable organizations, he gained experience in the organization’s products, production methods, distribution channels, management systems and work culture.

He has tabulated a comparative analysis of various elements of leadership and organisation culture which may be a good reckoner for the young professionals, The author being a sensitive and emotional person has described his personal and family life and paid respect to his relatives and friends. He has brought pros and cons of a joint family system, their values and dynamic relationship with the members of his family. From the characters which touched his life, he has narrated short stories. The author has taken great courage to write poems giving tribute to his friends and relatives as well as on contemporary topics and travel stories. The book is not an autobiography but a self-reflection of the author.

Ajay Majumdar, a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College (now NIT), Durgapur and a Post Graduate from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, has worked in four very renowned and respected organizations for 26 years of his career. He has accumulated rich experience from various organisations in automobile, engineering, retail and media House.. After working in various technical fields and achieving success, he entered the Human Resource Function and was elevated to the highest position as a result of his excellent track record.

In the latter part of his career, he set up his own consulting company and kept his footprints in a large number of organisations by developing human resources policy, executive recruitment, training and development initiatives. He has successfully taught in various management colleges like XLRI (Jamshedpur), IISWBM (Calcutta), Calcutta Business School, Praxis Business School.
