Top 5 easy-to-make food items

While we all are great connoisseurs of good food, most of us like to watch our weight while binging. It’s hard to not devour a delectable fare set right in front but at the same time, the calories just wouldn’t let you munch in peace. In this piece, we bring to you the top easy-to-prepare highly-nutritious and mouth-watering delicacies, which of course can be tried in the comforts of your home, at the same time not contributing too much on the heavier side of the scale.

Smoothie: Luscious and creamy, this beverage is highly fruity in content providing the best of nutrients needed for a great start to the day. You can prepare it easily by choosing your favourite fruits, milk or water as a base.

Guacamole: A highly-revitalizing Mexican salad dip/spread, it is primarily made of fresh avocados and a lot of other condiments, probably making it an extremely healthy savoury.

Suji Halwa: No need to raise your brows, you read it right. While it’s often a preconceived notion that the Halwa might be bad for the weight owing to its sugar content, nutritionists state that the one cooked purely with milk and suji (semolina) is beneficial and tasty. Just make sure you use whole ingredients and no artificial preservatives.

Sweet Potato fries: There’s hardly anyone who can resist the luxuries of the palette when it comes to fries. While potatoes are rich in starch and tend to make you gassy, sweet potatoes, on the other hand, might do the ‘lean’ effect. Henceforth, opt for these, shred, fry/bake and garnish them accordingly.

Salad: This needs no introduction. Get yourself the most delectable looking vegetables, or even fruits, garnish with salt and some salad condiments. You may even add quinoa, flavoured yoghurt or one of the innumerable dressings available.

(Our advice, try making the dressings at home with whole ingredients as there may be a high possibility of artificial preservatives in the readymade ones)
