Impression of kings, warriors, saints, sages and a glories future, Haryana stands strong not just economically but also when it comes to tourism. Its rich history and mythological importance is the main attraction for tourist to visit this state. It not just shares its border with Delhi, Uttar Pardesh, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan it even shares its capital Chandigarh with Punjab.
Thousands of tourist visit Haryana every year to see rich historical and pilgrim places. Thinking of pilgrim places first place that comes in mind is Kurukshetra. It is believed that Lord Krishna delivered the Bhagwat Geeta to Arjun here on the battle field of Kurukshetra. Kurukshetra has many interesting places to visit like the Brahma Sarovar where thousands of devotees come to take a dip in the Sarovar on solar eclipse, City of parks having Purushottam Park, Harsh- Vardhan Park and Tapovan Park, the Krishna Museum having the many beautiful painting, sculptures and art work related to Lord Krishna, Jyotisar having a marble chariot depicting the delivery of message of Geeta to Arjun by Lord Krishna. The city Panchkula has two very popular temples The Chandi Mandir, located on the Chandigarh Kalka highway witnesses many devotees coming in Navratras and then the Kalka Temple an old and famous temple on the Shimla Kalka highway.

For adventure lovers Haryana lined up many activities in Morni hills, just 45km away from Chandigarh on the foot hills of Shivalik hills, running parallel from south east to north west has two lakes offering many water sports like rafting, boating, kayaking, sailing and picturesque view of lush green hills covered with trees like pepal, jamun, neem etc. For trekking lovers a small tourist spot “Tikar Tal” offers a trek to Ghaghar, giving you a chance to explore the Morni hills, then we have 8500 ft above the sea level, the best summer escape, Manali having the amazing view and many adventurous activity like trekking, rock climbing, camping, camp fire and many more and last but not the least a small tourist attraction the Pinjore Gardens, a phenomenal palace having beautiful gardens and small zoo, is a best family picnic spot. Sultanpur National Park is a popular picnic spot especially during the winter migration months when thousands of birds visit here from across the globe.

Other popular cities to visit here are Panipat, famous for witnessing the freedom battle and its textile industry, Gurgaon, the upcoming I.T hub of india, Ambala, having the textile and army cantonment, Karnal having the famous Karnal lake.

Haryana has two very famous and well maintained golf courses The Amravali Golf Course and Highway Golf Course, which hosts many golf tournaments.
The language Harynavi is spoken by the Jat. People here celebrate every festival with zeal and enthusiasm. The popular dishes of Haryana are makke di roti (grounded dry corn) and sarso da saag, lassi (sweet yogurt), rajma, cholay-bhature, etc.
