RIM PlayBook Tablet Becomes Cheaper in India

Blackberry maker RIM has again reduced the price of its tablet PC PlayBook by 18% in India.  The revised price of 64-GB PlayBook tablet is now available at Rs 19,990.

RIM had launched its PlayBook in June 2011 in the Indian market. The original price of 64 GB RIM playbook was Rs 37,990. Last year in December they have slashed the price and started selling at Rs. 24,490/-. The price of the 16GB variant however is increased slightly to Rs 13,990 from Rs 13,490.

In an interview with PTI, the Director Marketing, Research In Motion India, Krishnadeep Baruah, said, “We have seen positive momentum with the promotional pricing levels and have decided to maintain an aggressive pricing strategy in order to help continue the momentum”.

Research In Motion to launch android based PlayBook OS 2.0 with added functionalities very soon.
