venus williams copyWilliams loss to 22-seed Ekaterina Makarova comes as a shock on the opening day of the year’s first grand slam tournament. Williams has been struggling with her back injury, exhaustion and inconsistency and has not done well since 2009.

“I do play points really well, and then sometimes I don’t put them together as well. I feel like I have to be patient with myself because I really haven’t had a chance to play that consistently,” Venus Williams said after the match.

“I love Australia. I’d love to come back,” the 33-year-old added.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
