Rafael Nadal wins US Open 2013Second-seed Rafael Nadal won 2013 US Open beating world No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a 3-hour, 21-minute marathon at US Open final on Monday. This was Nadal’s 13th Grand Slam title.

“This is probably the most emotional one in my career. I know I had to be almost perfect to win,” Nadal said adding “Probably nobody brings my game to the limit like Novak.”

Nadal received $3.6 million in prize money.

“He was too good. He definitely deserved to win this match today and this trophy. Obviously disappointing to lose a match like this,” Djokovic said.

Nadal is now only behind Roger Federer’s 17 and Pete Sampras’ 14 Grand Slam title.
