Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona illegal?

The Spanish giant Barcelona is under investigation by Spanish state prosecutors over Neymar’s transfer to the Catalan side. Barcelona has paid total 57.1 million euros to Brazilian forward and out of that, 40 million euros has been paid to Neymar’s father’s company as a part of deal.

Club president Sandro Rosell has denied charges and said Neymar’s signing to Catalan side was “complex”. However the prosecution seeks additional info into the transfer deal.

“There is also no exact figure for how much Santos were paid for the rights for the player before his contract expired,” the prosecution said.

Meanwhile, Neymar said that there was total transparency regarding his transfer.

“I know that a lot is being said about my contract. I have spoken to (my father) to see what they were talking about exactly. My father was the one who signed the contracts and he is someone in whom I have total trust,” he said.

“There is nothing illegal. In any case, if anyone has any doubts, they should ask my dad because I’m concentrating on my job, which is playing football,” he added.
