Shiv Sena hits out at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi over ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’

After AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he would never chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ even if someone put a knife to his throat, Shiv Sena hit out at him, saying his citizenship should be scrapped.

In its mouthpiece Saamna, Shiv Sena said those who can’t chant the slogan, should be thrown out of country and government should scarp their citizenship and taken away voting rights.

Earlier RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had said the time has come when everyone should chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

“Now the time has come when we have to tell the new generation to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. It should be real, spontaneous and part of all-round development of the youth,” he said.
Reacting to Bhagwat’s remarks, Owasis sparked the controversy when he said he would not chant “’Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

“I don’t chant that slogan. What are you going to do, Bhagwat sahib” he said, adding, “I won’t utter that even if you put a knife to my throat…Nowhere in the Constitution it says that one should say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.”
