Mayawati rules out alliance for 2014 Lok Sabha election

BSP leader Mayawati has ruled out pre-poll alliance with any parties for the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to the reporters on Saturday Mayawati said her party will fight the election alone.

“A feeling is being created that there are only the BJP and the Congress. People do not prefer either of these two parties,” she said.

Attacking the BJP she asked what NDA had done when they were in power.

“BJP gathers people at rallies as a show of strength and claim to have all solutions for all the problems that our country has. What did they do when they governed the country?” Mayawati asked.

A source close to BSP leadership has said that the party will maintain similar distance from Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress in the coming days.
