Supporters protested Tuesday as Satish Upadhyay has not been given a constituency for contesting the upcoming Delhi elections. Upadhyay, the Delhi BJP chief will not be contesting elections, though he wanted to contest from the Malviya Nagar seat.

Protestors were sloganeering in support of Upadhyay. However, police officials, already deployed outside the office controlled the supporters and later Upadhyay himself cleared out everything, calming them down.

The Times of India quoted BJP General Secretary J P Nadda as saying, “Satish Upadhyay has a huge responsibility and will not be fighting the election.”

In the meantime, Ms Bedi on Tuesday went for a tour in her constituency. But people, according to reports, showed their disaccord to her at the Krishna Nagar, which was represented by BJP’s Harsh Vardhan until now.

According to a PTI report, published in The Times of India: the BJP workers kept shouting slogans in support of him (Mr Harsh Vardhan), showing their displeasure to party’s decision to field the former cop from the seat before they were persuaded by both Vardhan and MP Maheish Girri.

The same report also claimed that Protests by supporters of ticket aspirants took place in many areas including Rohini, Dwarka and Okhla. BJP ticket aspirant from Okhla seat resigned from the party.
