CJI hits back at govt for criticising its verdict on NJAC Act

Chief Justice of India HL Dattu said he had expected government to respect Supreme Court’s verdict on scrapping National Judicial Appointment Act (NJAC Act).

For the last two days government has been criticising collegium system and the Supreme Court’s decision of rejecting National Judicial Appointment Act which was for the appointment of judges

“Everybody has a viewpoint and it is their right to express it. However, I expect them to respect and accept the verdict,” Chief Justice of India HL Dattu said, adding that the judiciary is open to suggestion to improve the collegium system.
