Prayers resume at Kedarnath Temple

Prayers begin at Kedarnath TempleAfter 86 days of horrific silence, the prayers with Vedic chants begins at Kedarnath temple today. The mansoon flood destroyed the Kedar valley and most areas in Uttarakhand. Badrinath, Rudraprayag, Urttarakashi, Chamoli and Pittoragrh were badly hit by the calamity with over thousands dead and more than 4,000 still missing.

The Kedar shrine was opened at 7 in the morning amidst thick fog by the chief priest Rawal Bhima Shankar Ling Shivacharya and began the puja with ‘shuddhikaran’.

Along with the chief priest, many of the Kedarnath prists and Badrinath Kedarnath Samiti officials were present at the puja.

The shrine is, however, not opened to the pilgrims and visitors yet.

Sprightly Spirit

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
