Mobile phone found in Tejpal’s cell

A mobile phone has been found in Tehelka’s former editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal‘s cell in a sub-jail in Vasco on Monday.

According to the Goa police, when Sub-divisional Magistrate Gaurish hankhwalkar made a surprise inspection in the jail a total number of nine mobiles were found including the one which was in Tejpal‘s cell.

Also the police seized headphones, MP3 players, cigarettes and tobacco packets from various cells.

Tejpal has been locked in cell no.14 along with four other inmates for about two months. He has been in judicial custody there on charges of raping a colleague. However, It’s not clear yet whom that mobile phone belongs to.
