Consumer Forum fined GoAir for early departure

A Consumer Forum in New delhi asked GoAir Airline to pay Rs. 25000 for not informing a passenger about early departure from Patna to Delhi. Khursheed Ahmed and his wife missed the flight due to its departure before stipulated time.

Consumer Forum fined GoAir Rs 25,000 for early departureThe Airline also not provided any food or lodging during that period while they were waiting at the airport for the next flight. He had to stay overnight at the airport itself.

“We find the complainant had booked two air tickets of opposite party airlines much in advance and on the date of journey had reported in time, but the flight departed before the scheduled time of departure. No reason for early departure was told to the complainant,” Forum said.

“No lodging was provided and complainant and his wife were compelled to spend a night at the airport… The very purpose of air travel was frustrated. We find gross deficiency in service provided by the airline and complainant is entitled to be reasonably compensated,” said the bench.
