Abu Salem gets 7 years jail in fake passport case

A special CBI court in Hyderabad has ordered 7 years jail term for underworld don Abu Salem in 2001 fake passport case.

CBI claimed that Abu Salem had allegedly obtained three fake passports under the identity of Ramil Kamil Malik by submitting false documents in 2001. He procured three passports – one for him, one for his wife, another for his girlfriend Monica Bedi.

Abu Salem has been convicted under IPC section 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 419 (cheating by personation), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document).
