A US drone strike on Wednesday which was targeted a suspected militant base in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal area, killed at least 13 people and injured many more.

In a major offensive against Pakistani militants, US drone fired two missiles in the North Waziristan province after the reports of militants moving to Zoi Saidgai from Miranshah and Mir Ali.

“A US drone fired two missiles targeting a militant compound in Zoi Saidgai area, killing at least 13 insurgents,” a senior security official told AFP.

The attack took place around 2:00am (2100 GMT) last night when the reports came of important meeting schedule at a compound.

Another security personnel claim that around 20 people may have been killed in the strike.
