‘Snowquester’ strikes US, over 2000 flights cancelled

A major winter snowstorm, dubbed as “snowquester” marched into the US, leaving nine states without electricity and dumping nearly two feet snow in many places.

Major winter snowstorm strikes USThe capital Washington has been targeted most. Schools, colleges and offices in Washington have been shut down as the storm approached. The federal government advised its workers in Washington to stay home.

At least on four people were killed in traffic accidents due to bad weather.

Governor Bob McDonnell declared a state of emergency in Virginia and advised its citizens to “stay off the roads, stay inside, enjoy the day off.”

Virginia and New Jersey are in completely dark for the last 24 hours.

Due to pilling up about three inches of snow at the Washington’s Dulles airport, 2,200 flights had been cancelled.
