Former US Secretary of State and wife of the former President Bill Clinton, Mrs. Hillary Clinton began with touring ‘key’ states, at the start of her campaign to become the first woman US president.
Having declared her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination on Sunday, she began her road trip to Iowa in order to meet small groups of voters there. The former Secretary had been expected to declare her candidacy since months. Mrs Clinton had also previously ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in the year 2008 but that had resulted in a loss to the current President Obama.
“Road trip! Loaded the van & set off for IA. Met a great family when we stopped this afternoon. Many more to come. -H” was tweeted by her a few hours into the tiring journey. However, the launch of Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency was meant to be low-profile, with many aspects kept under wraps.
Mrs Clinton, however, is quite a huge name in the American politics and reinventing herself to represent the life of commoners wouldn’t be simple, much against her desires. She will have to prove herself not only as a successful leader but will also have to find a convincing vision for America that will capture and essay the vivid imagination of the public.
Mrs Clinton already had the backing Prseident Obama who said that she would make an “excellent president”, according to his statement on Saturday.
