Mercedes-Benz Launches SL 350 and GL 500 in India

Mercedes-Benz India, which hinted at new launches in the later half of this year a few days ago, has launched two new luxury cars in the Indian market: the sports car SL 350 and the Sports Utility Vehicle GL 500 4MATIC.

The SL Class is a legend among the cars produced by Mercedes-Benz and it is a connoisseur’s choice all over the world. The SL 350 includes the Direct Steering with Variable Servo Assistance  as standard. It is a speed-sensitive power steering combined with additional sportiness. It reduces the need to turn the wheel and increases its agility.

The GL 500, on the other hand, is one of the most power-packed sports utility vehicles from the Company. The 4MATIC all wheel drive system in the GL 500 provides excellent traction and driving stability even under bad road conditions. The GL 500 4MATIC is expected to strengthen the Company’s position in the SUV market segment.

The SL 350 costs about Rs.98.5 lac and GL 500 costs nearly Rs.81 lac.

Mr Peter Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said: “The SL 350 and the GL 500 are two of the most popular offerings in our portfolio. Both the cars have unique USP’s. The SL-Class with its styling, performance and handling abilities has won hearts globally. We are glad to introduce the SL-Class which is sportier, aggressive and of course packed with benchmark Mercedes-Benz safety features and technology. On the other hand the GL 500 being one of the most powerful SUV’s in the world, is ideal to suit the tastes of the growing number of off-roading afficionados in India. I am confident that both the vehicles will woo auto enthusiasts, critics, customers & media alike.”

With the launch of these two new cars in the Indian market, Mercedes-Benz have once again demonstrated their commitment to offer the widest range of luxury cars in the Indian market.

While Mercedes-Benz India has already started assembling the engines and transmission systems of its C- and E-Class luxury cars at its factory in Chakan (Maharashtra) to reduce the price of the cars by avoiding the burden of customs duty on imported units, it is reportedly planning to launch, in the coming few years, its A- and B-Class luxury cars assembled in India.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
