10 including Principal found guilty in Kumbakonam school tragedy

The Thanjavur district sessions court has convicted 10 out of 21 accused in the Kumbakonam school tragedy case in which 94 primary students were killed in a fire in 2004.

The Krishna English Medium School founder Pulavar Palanichamy, his wife and school correspondent Saraswati, headmistress Santhanalakshmi among the others who were found guilty in court.

All 10 were booked under section 304 of the IPC for punishment of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
