Flipkart founders receive million dollar salaries

The founders of India’s largest e-commerce company, has received whooping Rs 10.25 crore as remuneration for just 6 month’s work.  Flipkart bosses got $1.7 million each between September 2011 and March 2012.

Flipkart CEO Sachin Bansal and co-founder Binny Bansal even beat American Darrell Cavens, Zulily’s founder-CEO, who got Rs 1.74 crore including bonus last year. Bansals earn basics of Rs 50 lakh each per year and with senior management staffs they reportedly control about 25% of the company.

“It’s proof that entrepreneurship in India, if done right, can be extremely rewarding,” said Sachin Bansal, CEO of Flipkart.

The $1.5 billion (Rs 9,200 crore) company, Flipkart.com is India’s most popular online retailer which sells almost everything from books to electronic products to mobiles to home appliances and lifestyle products. Flipkart’s transparent policies and excellent service made online shopping acceptable and insurable.
