Apple Won Patent Suit Of 1 Billion Dollar Against Samsung

The largest and most profitable company in the world, Apple Inc wins its most prestigious battle in recent years. On Friday, a US court rules in favour of them and ordered South Korean company Samsung to pay $1.051 billion damages to Apple. Apple claimed that rival Samsung had copied significant features and designs of the popular iPhone and iPad. Apple had sought more than $2.5 billion in damages from Samsung in their Patent Suit.

This legal victory may also direct several countries to ban sales on Samsung’s key products. Also the companies which sell Samsung smartphones powered by Google’s Android software, are now scared of facing legal challenges from Apple.

Together Apple and Samsung sell more than 50% smartphones and tablets in the world.  This fierce legal fight began last year when Apple sued Samsung in several countries alleging them of copying the iPhone and iPad designs.

Samsung in return counter sued Apple. After listening to dozens of testimony, checking evidence and hearing lawyers argument the juror found that Samsung indeed copied Apple’s design.

After this verdict Samsung may see the ban on selling the Galaxy smartphone in the United States.
