Ben Kingsley to play Bagheera in ‘The Jungle Book’

Oscar winning British actor Ben Kingsley will lend the voice for panther Bagheera in Jon Favreau`s ‘The Jungle Book’.

Disney`s new ‘The Jungle Book’ is remake of 1967 classic animation based on Rudyard Kipling`s book in which Bagheera, a black panther looks after a orphan boy Mowgli.

Jon Favreau is revisiting the story which follows Mowgli`s adventures in the jungle with his assistants Bagheera and Baloo the bear.

Idris Elba is giving voice to tiger Shere Khan and while Scarlett Johansson play Kaa, Mowgli`s charismatic python friend. Lupita Nyong`o will lend his voice to Rakcha, the wolf who raises the boy as her own.

‘The Jungle Book’ is slated for release Oct 9, 2015.
