Syd Field: The maverick Screenwriting teacher died at 77

Screenwriting teacher Syd Field passed awayThe maverick screen – writing teacher Syd Field passed away on Sunday.Field died of hemolytic anemia. He was surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was 77.

His contribution in the screenwriting includes one of his excellent books – Screenplay: The Basics of Film Writing. It was published in 1979 and has been later published in various languages. It a landmark book in the area and is being considered as a text book for writing courses.

Apart from his lectures and workshop, Field was also an expert consultant for all of the Hollywood majors from time to time.
