Miss Philippines Wins Miss World 2013

 

The 23-year-old Miss Philippines, Megan Young, won Miss World crown in Bali in Indonesia on Saturday.

Megan YoungMiss France, Marine Lorphelin became the first runner-up, while Miss Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter took third place.

“I promise to be the best Miss World ever,” Young said after winning the pageant.

The 63rd Miss World event was organized in tight security amidst threats from the Islamic groups in Bali.

The 127 contestants participated in the annual beauty pageant making it the biggest turnout in the Miss World’s history.

Born in United States, Young moved to the Philippines when she was 10. She is a known face in films and television in Philippines.

Miss India Navneet Kaur Dhillon won the Multimedia Award at the Miss World 2013 pageant but could not make it to the semifinal round.
