Mahesh Bhatt says ‘Aashiqui 2’ is not inspired from ‘Abhimaan’

Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said that upcoming ‘Aashiqui 2’ has not inspired by Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan starrer ‘Abhimaan’.

Mahesh Bhatt says 'Aashiqui 2' is not inspired from 'Abhimaan'“What was unique about ‘Abhimaan’ was a talented successful male artist discovering a simple but talented village girl and then falling in love with her, the resemblance to ‘Aashiqui 2’ ends there,” Bhatt said reporters.

It was highly speculated that Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Aashiqui 2’ resembles 1973 hit movie Abhimaan.

“When societies evolve, stories evolve, characters evolve. India is now drastically different from the time ‘Abhimaan’ was made. Apart from the earlier similarity I have mentioned, there is no similarity between the two movies,” said Mahesh Bhatt who is also the producer of  ‘Aashiqui 2’.

“The film has a lot of heart. It has a world view that the new age audiences would connect to,” said Bhatt who had directed prelude ‘Aashiqui’ in 1990.

‘Aashiqui 2’ is being directed by Mohit Suri and will be released on April 26.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
