India-Sri Lanka ODI Match Ends in Tie

India managed a tie in triangular one day international series match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Although captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni  (58 not out) in the end tried hard to achieve the target but fell short of 1 run.

In the last over, India needed 9 runs but could only manage eight runs and the match ended in a draw.

Earlier in the day Indian bowlers were able to restrict Sri Lanka to 236 runs in their 50 overs. Vinay Kumar took 3 wickets for 46, Ravi Ashwin got 2 for 30 and Irfan Pathan took 1wicket. Dinesh Chandimal made brilliant 81 off 91 balls for Srilanka.

The simple target of 237 was looking simpler when Gautam Gambhir (91) was in the crease. Again he missed the century.Sachin Tendulkar (15), Rohit Sharma (15) and Suresh Raina (15) got out very cheaply.

India, with 10 points is in the top spot.
