Knife attack- several dead due to repeated stabbing in a bizarre incident in Japan

In a bizarre happening that left the country surprised and shocked, Japan witnessed a man who proclaimed that he desired to kill disabled and other physically challenged people, took at least 19 lives and left 26 others wounded, after he pounced with a knife at a care institute.

Tsukui Yamayuri En (Tsukui Lily Garden) facility in Sagamihara, that lies to the south of the Japanese capital of Tokyo, phoned the police at about wee hours of 2:30, local time, after the ‘mad’ suspect, identified as Satoshi Uematsu, 26, began with his maniacal rampage. This is being held as the nation’s worst mass killing in years.

He was proudly pictured to be saying, “I did it,” after the gruesome happenings. A former employee of the very institute,remarked, “It is better that disabled people disappear.” a local resident, Uematsu was carrying a bag full of knives and other sharp weapons, some of which had blood on their surface, as he surrendered.

No motive for the attack has been established as such. Some nine women and ten men lost their lives in the utter confusion that followed, all ranging in the age from 18 to 70 years. The man’s state of mind is under diagnosis.
