A suicide bomber detonated bomb amidst a volleyball match in Afghanistan, claiming atleast 45 lives. All of this happened when the suicide bomber suddenly exploded his bomb while several people had gathered there to watch the volleyball match that was going on at that time.
Spokesperson of the Governor of Paktika said that this happened during an interstate volleyball match which was attended by a large number of people.
An AP report published on the Times of India quoted the spokesperson Mr Mokhis Afgha as saying, “There were too many people gathered in the one place to watch the game. Dozens of others are wounded and we have reports that many of them are in critical condition.”
He was further quoted as he added, “We need urgent help from the central government because we might need to transfer wounded people to Kabul for treatment.”
