Universal Moves Bourne 5 To July 2016

Universal’s highly popular Bourne franchise next which was supposed to hit the big screen next year is being announced to get delayed. It is delayed to the summer 2015.

Justin Lin, famous for Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, is directing the fifth installment of the series. In its place, the Universal has slated the release of N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton”. The other competition that weekend is another blockbuster five-quel: Fox’s Ice Age 5.

Bourne Legacy grossed $276 million worldwide in 2012. In that movie itself it introduced Renner’s new protagonist to the franchise based on Robert Ludlum’s novels. It is one of the most hyped sequels worldwide. The release date is announced to be July 15, 2016.
