Stalingrad Tops As Russian Grosser

Fyodor Bondarchuk’s StalingradIt is happening to be supposedly the first time in Russian film history in the post-communist era that a Russian film is winning over to be the top grosser losing out the Hollywood blockbusters. Fyodor Bondarchuk’s Stalingrad has become Russia’s top-grossing movie of 2013, beating the third installment of the Iron Man franchise.

Stalingrad grossed $50.8 million (1.66 billion rubles and Iron Man 3 grossed $42.2 million (1.38 billion rubles) in total. The movie is based on the battle of Stalingrad during WWII. Starred by  Thomas Kretschmann, Yanina Studilina, Philippe Reinhardt –  the movie has been released in Russia on 10th October 2013.
