Trailer of Padmavati is sending viewers into a frenzy

The trailer of ‘Padmavati’ was released on Monday and it has created quite a storm since. Garnering appreciation from all corners, this star-studded film has grandeur written all over it. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles, the period saga has received a mixed bag of responses from every nook and corner.

Here’s my take on this much hyped trailer. Unlike Bhansali’s usual over-pitched, spit-on-your-face storytelling, this 3 minute trailer of this much awaited period film is restrained, the build-up is rhythmic and the tempo is consistent. A coy Deepika, a regal Shahid and a barbaric (if not, nuts) Ranveer lend a vibrant aura to the mood of the trailer.

With the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ franchise having left a huge impact, one would have thought that a comparison would be inevitable. But, the visuals of ‘Padmavati’ both in design and tone are quite distinct that it would surely lay a lasting impact on the audience’s mind. Thereby negating such chances of future comparisons. The makers seemed to have confidently held on to their vision for ‘Padmavati’, giving the film a distinct appeal.

The graph of the trailers is already rising steadily – clearly indicating how much ‘maniacal’ Indian fans really are! As for myself, I’m looking forward to the film already, just to soak in the sheer grandeur and vivid colours that this film has to offer.
