Your Weekly Bollywood Rundown

The big as well as the small screen never fail to amuse us. Was this week any different? Not really. If you’ve missed out on any action, here’s a quick recap of how things unfolded this week.

The NEWSMAKERS of this week

11

1. Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover, who grew closer to one another since shooting for their movie Alone, finally decided to tie the knot. Right from their save-the-dates to their bachelor-bachelorette parties, the proceedings to their big day were largely followed, thanks to Instagram, where both the actors shared pictures of the moments leading to the big day.

2. Shah Rukh Khan –  While many expected the star’s movie Fan to star at the box office, it is something that certainly did not happen. Though the film received a good review from the critics, it was not able to make much of an impact on the box office. It is the first time in many years that a film starring the King Khan has done so miserably at the box office.

3. Kangana Ranaut & Adhyayan Suman: Adding more spark to the already heated Kangana-Hrithik legal drama, Kangana Ranaut’s ex-boyfriend Adhyayan Suman recently opened up to the media and talked about how he empathizes with Hrithik, as in their relationship, Kangana assaulted him. He said he was the target of her constant abuses and even accused her of using black magic on him. This drama seems to be never ending, truly.

????????????????????????

4. Salman Khan has been in news for his film Sultan for quite some time now, but this week the buzz surrounding him was completely different. He was recently appointed as the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent for the upcoming Olympic games at Rio de Janeiro. Many athletes raised their voice against this decision which included the likes of Milkha Singh, Dhanraj Pillay and Yogeshwar Dutt, but not every response he received was negative.  Many who backed him up included Sourav Ganguly, Vijendar Singh and several more from the industry.

NEW THIS WEEK

With many movies set to release, we were treated with first looks, teasers, trailers and even new songs. Here is a quick look at what was new this week.

16

1. Pyaar ki Maa ki- Housefull 3: With the trailer already striking well with the audience, the release of this ‘so-called’ romantic song has kept the movie in headlines. Sung by Shaarib and Toshi Ft. Nakkash Aziz, Divya Kumar, Anmol Malik and Earl Edgar, this quirky number stars all the actors of the film and is definitely catchy. Shake a leg, everyone!

17

2. Oye Oye-Azhar: The news surrounding Azhar seems to be getting bigger and better. This reprised version of the 90’s hit Oye-Oye from Tridev is upbeat and just the number you would groove to. It features Emraan Hashmi and Praachi Desai sitting in the audience watching the extremely glamorous Nargis shake a leg.

What Buzzed the TellyLand this week!

The television might be referred to as the small screen, but its happenings are anything but small.

1. Naagin and Kumkum Bhagya rule the TRP ratings:

Drama, drama and only drama. That is what has kept these two shows at the top of the TRP Ratings chart for a while now. While the episodes moving towards the climax of Naagin are full of action, Kumkum Bhagya is riding on the drama created by their lead pair’s divorce and the events following it. We would not be surprised if they continue to maintain their top positions in the future.

2. Sony Max is the most viewed channel:  When someone said cricket is a religion in India, they were certainly not messing around. The ongoing Indian Premier League has been doing very well for Sony Max because as per the latest TRP ratings, it is the most viewed channel. Well, considering the fact that we really are a cricket crazy nation, that is not much of a shocker really.
