The most awaited movie of 2015 is well-managing to create the top-discussed news to stay in showbiz. The pre-attained fame of this film, is adorned more, with its title- Shamitabh. The title came to rise after the film makers adhered to the idea of extracting last collective letters from the lead duo`s names respectively- Dhanu’sh’ and ‘Amitabh’, making it Shamitabh.
The title itself has managed to produce much hype and generate curiosity in the minds of viewers. Also, the film maintains its uniqueness by starring two opposite-aged, but accomplished actors, Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan. Well, the list has not been marked a full stop here. This eminent filmy team has got one more gemstone to place in its notable and prestigious crown.
The team is going to unveil this surprise on Republic Day, which is today, in the form of homage paid to the legendary icon of India- Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. It was really a significant union wherein a poetic piece penned by the amazing writer and poet was sung by another megastar. Amitabh Bachchan has recorded this song which is actually India`s National Anthem, in Mumbai, and shot for its video at Rabindranath Tagore`s ancestral home in Kolkata.
The song doesn`t have any background music and it was shot on Saturday at the Tagore monument named Jorasanko Thakurbari. At one of the press conferences, Bachchan said, “We went to music director Adesh Srivastava’s studio in Mumbai who felt it (the anthem) does not require any music.” The decision of including our national anthem in the film was not pre-planned but just taken a few days ago. The movie is being helmed by R.Balki, the director of two well-acclaimed films (Cheeni Kum and Paa) and producer of the blockbuster English Vinglish. Initially, Balki planned to shoot the song at Shantiniketan, a small town near Bolpur, West Bengal. But later on, shifted the gears due to lack of time. About this venue change, he said, as Rabindranath Tagore wrote the song, we decided that why don’t we shoot it where Gurudev was born. Shoojit Sircar has shot the song today at Jorasanko. And we are trying to release the song on January 26.”
Mr.Bachchan shot for the song while on a promotional tour of Shamitabh. The uncommon version of the national anthem will be a tribute from the Shamitabh squad to the renowned personality- Gurudev Tagore.
“It is so surprising that the national anthem has never been filmed at the home of its author Rabindranath Tagore . Amitabh Bachchan the voice of Indian cinema pays homage to the song of the nation. Sung by Amitabh Bachchan the song echoes in the corridors of its author… What a feeling!!!!” said director Balki, expressing his enthusiasm.
Mr. Bachchan expressed his feelings by saying, ” There is such pride and overflowing emotion when you sing the song of your Anthem .. I just did .. eyes filled with patriotic water”.
Narrating his experience at Gurudev’s house, Bachchan said, “It’s for the first time I have been there and such an iconic place and I doubt perhaps anybody has ever sang the national anthem there. I feel so proud.” “I don’t know whether much people outside Bengal have seen it or much people outside Bengal know about it. It’s very quiet there and you can almost feel the presence of Rabindranath Tagore.” He added,” It’s very interesting to see the painting Gurudev had painted in the later part of his life… The great history you see in the pictures he (Rabindranath) meeting the freedom fighters, his noble award on the walls.”
In addition to it, movie’s trailer is a bit different attempt as it really pours out very less about the central theme and storyline of the film. While in an 
interview with DNA , Balki mentioned,” I always believe that there needs to be something which will surprise the audience when they watch it in the theatre. Our trailer has fair description of the zone the film is in. But at the same time, there are things which you keep reserved. Also, I feel it’s more exciting if you reveal it bit by bit and still not reveal everything before the release of your film. You should sense what the film is about but still not know exactly what it’s about. That’s how I felt instinctively how the trailer should be.”
The film has Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush, whom Bachchan considers to be the “wonderful choice” for the role, and Akshara Hassan, playing pivotal roles. The movie is all geared up to release on 6th Feb 2015.
