The Seventh Pay Commission proposed 23.55% hike in salary

The Seventh Pay Commission submitted its recommendation on Thursday to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with proposals of 23.55% hike in salary, allowances and pension for nearly 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pension holders. The government will implement the recommendation from January 1, 2016 to avoid providing arrears.

The Seventh Pay Commission proposed 16% increase in basic pay and 63% rise in allowances. While annual increment will be 3%

The minimum salary of the government employees would be Rs 18,000 per month while the maximum salary would be Rs 2.5 lakh.
