With more than 30,000 temples, Tamil Nadu is known as “The Land of Temples”. Tamil Nadu is a perfect mix of rich Dravidian Civilization culture, splendid temples & sculptures, classical music & dance, green mountains & amazing food.

Chennai, the capital city has a lot to offer to tourists. Chennai exhibits the perfect blend of British period monuments, Portuguese churches and Hindu temples. Some of the important places to visit in Chennai are Vivekandana Illam (Ice House), Kapaleeshwar Temple, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral, Government Museum and Theosophical Society.
Other important city in Tamil Nadu is Mammallapuram. This busy port city is famous for its monolithic temples and is declared as World heritage Site by UNESCO. Tamil Nadu is not only popular for its Temples but also for its lush green hill stations attracting many tourists. One of the must visit hill station in Tamil Nadu is Ooty. Also known as “Queens of Hill Stations”, Ooty is known for its miles of tea gardens and lush green mountains. Some of the must visits in Ooty are Botanical Gardens, Nilgiri Toy Train Ride, Pykara Lake, Doddabetta Peak, Rose Gardens, Toda Hamlet and Glen Morgan Tea estate.

Hogenakkal Falls referred as “Niagara Falls of India” are situated on the river Kaveri are a must visit for every tourists. To get close to these falls hire these weird shaped round boats. A Boat ride in this rocky terrain is an adventure in itself. Hogenakkal Falls is not one fall but a series of small falls.

Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India will leave our awestruck and wanting more. Bay of Bengal, The Arabian Sea and The Indian Ocean confluence at this point and give you a magnificent view of the Blue Ocean and clear blue sky. Catch the not to be missed Sun rise and Sun set in Kanyakumari – an unforgettable experience. Other important cities to visit in Tamil Nadu are Thanjavur, Pondicherry, Kanyakumari, Madurai.

No trip is complete without enjoying the local cuisine. Tamil Nadu cuisine offers rich traditional food served on Banana leaves. The aroma of various spices in Tamil cuisine is the essence of its food. Some of the popular dishes to try are Ildi, Dosa, Uthappam, Chettinad chicken, Santhakai/Sandhavai and many more mouth-watering dishes. Tamil Nadu is also popular for its Filter Coffee, very different and strong from what is served in rest of the country.
