OnePlus two launched in India

OnePlus launched the OnePlus Two in India last week, the phone will sold in 2 variants the 16 GB and 64 GB priced at Rs. 22,999 and 24,999 respectively.

First things first the OnePlus Two is an Amazon exclusive similar to the previous year OnePlus One, it will be sold by an invite only system which means to but the phone the consumer who is willing to purchase the phone should have the invite to buy it with an invite one would not be able to purchase the phone. To get an invite one needs to register on OnePlus’s website where people will be randomly selected for the invite. OnePlus One had this system where the person with the invite if purchases the phone gets 3 more invites which he could then give to anyone they wish.

As of the specifications go the OnePlus Two houses a 5.5 inch Full HD in-cell display with gorilla glass protection under the hood there is a new and improved Snapdragon 810 v2.1 which OnePlus claims to have perfectly engineered for the OnePlus Two paired with 4 GB of RAM on the 64 GB version and 3 GB on 16 GB one.

The OnePlus Two also houses a finger print scanner which they claim to be better than Samsung’s scanner and Apple’s Touch ID, On the photography from the OnePlus Two features a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus similar to one seem on the LG G3 and Optical image stabilization (OIS) along with LED flash the aperture is f/2.0 and the pixel size of 1.3 microns. On the front there is a 5 MP Selfie camera.

In terms of design the OnePlus Two features a magnesium alloy frame and styleswap covers which offer a new look just by swapping the back cover. There is the inclusion of the new Type C USB port for charging which is dual sided just like apple’s lightning cable.

Also OnePlus Two has a notification slider on the left side to toggle between silent, important only and all notifications this isn’t a feature seen on android phones while the people familiar with the iPhone will know of this slider.

Connectivity options include the usual bunch of Dual sim cards, wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, DLNA etc. OnePlus has decided to give NFC a miss on OnePlus Two which might have been a huge mistake which is essential for future. There is a 3,300 mAh battery to power the beast.

On software front the phone runs on Oxygen OS 2.0 which is based on android 5.1 lollipop, the UI is quite similar to stock android with minor tweaks.
