India moved to 5th place on day 8 of the Commonwealth Games with winning total 47 medals including 13 gold, 20 silver and 14 bronze medals.
Olympics bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt won gold medal for India in men’s 65kg freestyle event.
Wrestler Babita Kumari also won gold in women’s 55kg and Vikas Gowda clinched gold from men’s discus throw event. Geetika Jhakar won a silver medal in women’s 63kg event.
Pawan Kumar managed a bronze in men’s 86kg freestyle wrestling and Dipa Karmarkar made history by winning Indian;s first ever gymnastic medal from Commonwealth Games by winning a bronze in the vault event.
