Brings in vibrant flavours of Bengali cuisine

Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre is organizing the Bengali Food Festival at The Square from 1st to 10th of August 2014. The Food Festival Picture 103will be a treat for the food   connoisseur who will be able to experience an authentic Bengali spread. The festival is designed to bring in a feeling of celebrations during the moonsoon season. One can explore the authentic culinary delights of Bengal that have inspired some of the greatest minds of our nation.

Chef Biplob and Chef Arnab have meticulously designed a menu with a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes from across Bengal. Chef Arnab specialises in non vegetarian Bengali delicacies and is a master of fish   preparations like bhapa Ilish, papda shorshe, bhetki paturi, pui shaak diye Ilish maacher matha etc. His has mastered the art of Bengali cuisine and belives in preparing simple with dishes with focus on the use of homegrown spices and ingredients. Chef Biplob on the other hand has a knack for vegetarian items. His repertoire includes delicacies like the shukto, ambols, and vegetable and rice preparations in the true traditional Bengali style. His biryani is a delicacy in itself with the use of subtle spices entrapped in a dum. This technique was brought over by the Nawabs in Kolkata. He accentuates most of his dishes with a tempering of whole spices finished with a touch of ghee or mustard oil.

Picture 105The menu has been crafted   to beautifully blend the subtle flavors and create the wonderful sojourn of both vegetarian and non vegetrain dishes. The lavish spread of delicacies includes few traditional and savory items are Chingdi malai curry, a traditional Bengali dish made with jumbo prawns cooked in a spiced creamy sauce made with thick coconut milk. Ghoogni, a delicious evening snack made of black gram or peas in gravy. Ghee bhat and Luchi, the Bengali styled poori. Kosha Mangsho is the Spicy Bengali Mutton Curry. Bekti fry goes extremely well as a side dish with muger dal and gorom bhaat as also as a snack with Kashundi (Mustard Sauce).Aloo Posto (Potato cooked in poppy seed paste), a popular Bengali recipe generally eaten as a dry accompaniment with a meal of steamed rice and daal. Lastly, how can one skip the soul-satisfying desserts like Misti doi, Rosssogolla & many more.

Speaking on the occasion G. Muthukumar, Executive Chef – Novotel Picture 093Hyderabad Convention Centre, said, “The food festival has been designed to provide our guests the authentic and traditional flovours of Bengali Food. The festival is aimed bringing alive the   artistic culture and velour of Bengal at Novotel. We are hopeful that our guests will really enjoy the culinary journey”.
