Hate Red Politics

Yogi Adityanath of Bhartiya Janata Party recently pulled everyone’s attention back on Hate speeches. After much praises for Prime Minister Modi’s effective Independence Day speech and Japan Visit, several issues (apart from Yogi Adityanath’s) have jumped up, putting the party’s image in jeopardy.

BJP’s historic victory and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s touching speeches had submerged the memories of pre-election hate speech of Amit Shah and V.K.Malhotra. But Yogi Adityanath has put light on these memories.

SHS Yogi Adityanath kicked up a furore by making appalling endorsements in Uttar Pradesh. Neither I would repeat the whole episode nor will I quote him here as all of us better know what this “star campaigner” of the Bhartiya Janata Party has said.

We can call this an irony or unfortunateness of the situation that this same person, Yogi Adityanath is heading the campaign for BJP in Uttar Pradesh. I wonder why? I know, I am no one to consult BJP on this but being a citizen I atleast have my rights to speak-up. We all know how complicated U.P is when it comes to communal issues, don’t we? This is the same Pradesh (State) that has witnessed several riots in a year; pre-election as well as post-election. And speaking unparliamentarily things at such places is nothing but dangerous. .

But when it comes to U.P, who other than Samajwadi Party is genius in cornering its opponents? As Yogi Adityanath’s matter captured headlines and simultaneously transformed into a bigger story, Samajwadi Party got out with its perspective on it. It demanded the Election Commission to impose a ban on Yogi Adityanath. I would consider this as a legitimate demand but won’t appreciate it from a party whose politicians are themselves highly indulged in making hate speeches.

And why should we blame only S.P or BJP? By now, leaders from every political party, including AAP, have made speeches that explicitly resemble ‘hate speech’. It seems as if speaking crap has become a regular routine for some of our politicians. Some indulge to drag media attention, some to criticize the opponents and the others to simply win votes.

SHS 2This happened even before elections when, several politicians including Azam Khan of S.P, Amit Shah of BJP, Imraan Masood of Congress, Tapas Pal of TMC, Asaddudin Owaisi and yes, how we can forget, Shazia Ilmi and Kumar Vishwas of the AAP who joined this cadre of hate speakers. Hate speeches have caught such a trend that spiritual leader Baba Ramdev too, couldn’t resist from making one.

Politics has become a complete circus with winning elections and securing maximum votes being the only motive of our politicians. They don’t let parliament to function; they don’t talk properly; they yell and shout on the top of their voice when someone criticizes them and get back on the same track when it comes to criticizing others.

How ridiculous and disgusting it is to see our mature politicians making appalling remarks, indulging in fights and blame games. They are no more small school kids to be told how to behave and what to speak. They are big enough and possess brains to dichotomize between what is right and wrong. But why they don’t make use of their brain remains incomprehensible to me.

We Indians want to witness development and surely not these rubbish things. There are ample issues that deserve focus of these politicians. But they are stubborn enough rather than being hand in glove for the development of the country.

It will be better on their part to concentrate on working towards the country and its people, rather than speaking against something or someone, that too in a dreadful manner. After all by counting others sins no one becomes a saint.
