UK GENERAL ELECTIONS 2015: Conservatives ahead in the race, PM Cameron set to return to power

David Cameron

Prime Minister David Cameron is all set to return to power in the United Kingdom, with the Conservative party speeding ahead of the others in the General Elections 2015. The Conservative Party, so-far, has emerged ahead in the battle for 650 seats of the lower house, leaving behind the Labour Party, but falling short for an absolute majority.

The poll prediction in the UK has forecast a victory for the Conservative Party, while the Labour Party is to emerge as the main opposition. David Cameron, however, is hoping to get an absolute majority, though political experts are finding it difficult to rule out this possibility, as the competition is tough between the Conservative and the Labour Party.

Out of 650 seats, the Conservative Party is expected to stand victorious, securing 316 seats while the Labour Party is expected to get 239 seats, according to a post-poll forecast result published in a Reuters report.

Though the counting is underway, the complete results of the General Elections will be out only by Friday noon.
