Saina Nehwal wins Denmark Open

India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal beats Juliane Schenk in the final to win Denmark Open Super Series title in Odense on Sunday. This is Olympic bronze-medallist  Saina Nehwal ‘s fourth title of the year.

Nehwal won 21-17 21-8 in just 35 minutes and received a prize money of $ 400,000.

“I thank Denmark and the Indian fans here for supporting me. I never expected to win this tournament,” said Saina after the match.  “There were a lot of things which I did after Olympics which made me fresh but every tournament is tough. My right knee was not really in perfect shape but I thank god for giving me the energy to win the title,” she added.

Saina had earlier defeated world number one Yihan Wang in the semifinals.
